Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) - Guide to Detroit (DTW) Airport

Cars are the preferred mode of transport for many Detroit residents and public transport is often not as efficient or reliable as in some other US cities. Taxis are a good way to get around and can be hailed in the street or ordered by telephone. Hiring a car is also easy. Major highways link Detroit with other North American cities including Chicago and Toronto.

Buses serve the city center and suburbs, and there is a light rail system known as 'the People Mover' in central Detroit. Trains and Greyhound buses run to other towns and cities.

The city is served by the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, which is 20 miles from downtown Detroit and has flights to a number of domestic and international destinations. It can be reached by shuttle buses from central Detroit.
